Do you know what is causing your repeated headaches or digestion problems?
Health problems with anger
The constant flood of stress chemicals and associated metabolic changes that go with recurrent unmanaged anger can eventually cause harm to many different systems of the body.
Some of the short and long-term health problems that have been linked to anger include:
• digestion problems, such as abdominal pain
• increased anxiety
• high blood pressure
• skin problems, such as eczema
• heart attack
Have you considered anger might be the underlying factor for your physical symptoms ?
The secret to manage your anger
Are you angry for no reason or can't control your anger?
What does it mean for you carrying anger with you? How has this affected your relationship with your family, friends and work collegues? Do you feel on edge and find your self snapping at people and then feeling guilty about this? Are you able to express your anger in a calm and controlled way or as soon as you want to talk, the words come out with aggression and you never seem to resolve your problems? Is anger stopping you from making the correct decisions because of past experiences and holding you back from what you want in life?
Anger originates from many different aspects - this can be Mental, Emotional or Physical. Most anger managing courses only take the Emotional aspect into account. There are however many other factors - these include the Mental aspect - an example would be your Value system and Physical aspect, an example would be your diet. For the best results to manage your emotions all 3 aspects should be integrated.

Why was this course developed for you?
"In my Complementary Practice over the last 15 years I have observed that more than 70% of patients experience unmanageable anger. I have seen that healing is delayed or stopped when patients' angry feelings block the free flowing of energy. This effect is even more marked in their emotional and spiritual well-being, to the point of being destructive as well as interrupting the recovery process.” Once we get to release the anger, patients' chronic health problems also resolve. Dr Debbie Smith (www.drdebbie.co.za)
Anger is an emotion that does have its purpose, to give you signals that something is out of balance, not agreeing with you, or unjust, but when it stays in the body and is not released, it can cause health problems.
Each emotion has a specific frequency and vibration. The energy it takes for certain emotions becomes apparent when you think how much energy it takes when we're angry and we want to hit a wall or break something. Also consider when you are worried about something how this can affect your health. Changes in the body’s chemical profile also happen with emotions, this includes changes in organs, changes in the degree of muscle contractions, and changes in neural pathways. Examples of this would be chronic neck pain due to stress, chronic constipation (in order to have proper bowel movements it is important to be relaxed otherwise the anal sphincter cannot relax), and with stress the hippocampus can become smaller and this can affect cognitive function.
When we suppress our emotions we are more prone to developing negative health conditions. Some symptoms of repressed emotions might include:
- depression with no apparent cause
- rarely talking about your feelings
- blowing up over minor incidents
- laughing on the outside while crying on the inside
- feeling on edge

To what extent do you feel out of control?
I would without a doubt recommend this course. I think that most people are dealing with a level of discomfort caused by underlying anger, to a greater or lesser degree. It is certainly a starting point enabling someone to take time to look at themselves and discover what may be the cause of their emotional state, behaviour or health related issues. I think the course can be positioned as preventative as well, as it would enable the development of EQ and provide a great base for individuals to proactively and effectively deal with their emotions / anger if and when it does occur.
- I truly found it insightful and learnt a lot. Thank you.
- I liked the fact that it was short and didn’t require loads of reading.
- I loved the action step at the end of each week. That helped a lot. This was probably the most useful aspect for me, personally.

How to achieve maximum results
One of the foundational pillars for success is that any big success is made up of little successes. If you are going to be successful at anything personally or professionally, it will result from doing the little things that, for the most part, are easy to do but also easy to neglect.
Another reason why little things are looked at individually is that we don’t value their importance. Napoleon Hill said: ” A big success is made up from a great number of little circumstances each of which may seem so small and insignificant most people pass them by as not being worthy of notice.”
“If you want to achieve more in your life, if you want to grow as a person and achieve your personal best, then you MUST become a person who does the little things that are both easy to do and easy not to do. This will likely be the greatest challenge you will ever take on, but if you will commit to this challenge and use your personal initiative, do the things you know you should do with consistency, your life can be transformed.” Todd Smith
